Objectives

  • Trainees will develop teaching skills through internship
  • Trainees will explore a variety of teaching strategies through workshops and exposure visits
  • Trainees will gain certification through mentoring & guidance
  • Trainees will prepare for job placement

Internship

  • Responsibilities of trainees: assist lead teachers; take initiative to plan, teach, and assess; follow school’s service rules; fulfill requirements of certifying institutions
  • Responsibilities of mentors: to give helpful feedback on tasks; to observe lessons; to guide trainees to successfully fulfill requirements of certifying institutions

    2. Category 2 focus on delivery of the four IB programmes of education

    3. Category 3 are for educators to build on and enhance their professional development portfolios

  • Modes of delivery
    1. Face-to-face 
    2. Online

Assessment & certification

  • Assessment by IB workshop leader according to standards of the International Baccalaureate
    1. Participation in online discussion, written tasks
    2. Timely submission
  • Assessment by Focus Teacher Training Centre
    1. Portfolio of tasks
    2. Classroom observations by mentor
    3. 95% attendance throughout the course (i.e. workshops, lectures and internship)

  • Amount: Rs. 35,000

Calendar and timetable

  • Start & end dates: 29 May 2020 to 15 April 2021
  • Internship timings: Mon to Thur 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Theory timings: Fridays and 3rd Saturdays 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
