The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES that was explained this week for their topic EXPLORATION was  COURAGEOUS.  It was great to see the children getting courageous when they did self-exploration activity(putting on their thinking caps, they reflected upon themselves and identified the 3 things that they are scared of, they self reflected and came up with amazing responses and even how they could overcome it and communicated to shared their ideas to the class.

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES that we will emphasize next week for their topic EXPLORATION will be COURAGEOUS.   The activities that you can do for the Learner Profiles mentioned above are as follows, You can encourage your child to dare a distressing activity that you have decided before, then you can talk on the effects of the activity, how it makes feel to try a new thing or whether s/he loves it. You can set a friend that s/he doesn’t have time to play for a long time and make them play together. You can constitute unusual conditions (different breakfast menü, not watchıng tv for a week…) and ask him/her to adopt this new situation.

Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed their understanding of the Government systems and shared it with the class.Students learned new words and their synonyms and used them while conversing with peers and teachers.JAM session was conducted. Students learned vocabulary to replace commonly used words and enhance their speech.

 

Writing:

 

Students wrote a journal entry based on the ongoing unit. They were asked to add detail to their writing to make it more meaningful. Sequencing and Report writing was introduced.

Author study was done. Students read levelled books during Guided Reading. They watched the Movie Matilda based on the book by the same name written by Roald Dahl.  This was followed by story wheel activity.

Central Idea: Water is essential to life and is a limited resource for many people.

Activities done this week: 

  • Water Is Water” book were read-aloud in circle time and students identified how water changes its form (in terms of seasons) illustrated on board in the form of water cycle. 
  • Students watched an experiment on water cycles and drew in their notebooks.
  • Students observed water divided into different jars labelled into different categories eg: glaciers, salt water etc and note their observations in their notebooks. 
  • Students pasted given material on a paper to show the steps of the water cycle and label them.

When they started exploring and asking questions on different explorers and their reasons for exploration, they brainstormed and communicated to share their ideas to the class.

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES that was explained this week for their topic EXPLORATION was  COURAGEOUS.  It was great to see the children getting courageous when they did self-exploration activity(putting on their thinking caps, they reflected upon themselves and identified the 3 things that they are scared of, they self reflected and came up with amazing responses and even how they could overcome it and communicated to shared their ideas to the class.

The programme for the day is as follows:

9:30am – 10:30 am Opening performances in the auditorium.

The Exhibition continues on the third floor where we invite you to wander through and engage the students in conversations about their inquiry.

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES that was explained this week for their topic EXPLORATION was  INQUIRER , THINKER & COURAGEOUS.  It was great to see the children’s curiosity about the topic, putting on their thinking caps and become little inquirers. When they started exploring and asking questions on different explorers and their reasons for exploration, they brainstormed and communicated to share their ideas to the class.
