Weekly lesson report (No.): 9           Date: 19 August 2019- 23 August 2019                           Class: Nursery A                   

 

Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week: The learner Profile attribute which was focussed this week was “Inquirer”. Being an inquirer helps the child to develop curiosity. They acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and show independence in learning. They actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

  • The kids did inquiry on “Summer Season”.

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

THEME:

TOPIC: LEARN EVERY DAY ABOUT SEASONS

Activities done this week: 

  1. Rainy season and its importance was recapitulated.
  2. They inquired on the things that are used during the rainy season (raincoat, boots, umbrella etc).
  3. The kids enjoyed singing rhymes on rainy season (badal garajta, I hear thunder, rain rain go away, Row row row your boat and maine ek khishti banayi)
  4. Summer season was introduced to the kids.
  5. They were able to pen down the things that we use during summer season.

Upcoming activities/ HW: Kindly discuss with your child about the seasons at home also.

 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

  • Students did oral counting of numbers.
  • They were able to identify and recapitulate numbers 1,2 &3.
  • Kids were able to understand the values of number 1,2&3 through hands on activities.
  • Number “4” was introduced to the kids with its values.
  • New shape “triangle” was introduced to the kids.
  • They enjoyed singing rhymes related to numbers ( Rabbit rabbit 123, 1,2 buckle my shoe, five little monkeys)
  • Shapes “circle and square were recapitulated with their related objects.
  • Students were able to recapitulate the pre mathematical concepts “up-down, big-small and in-out” through roli poli.
  • These activities helped the students develop cognitive and pre math skills.

Upcoming activities: 

 

  • Pre mathematical concepts “day-night, hot-cold” will be introduced.

 

  • Number “5” with its values will be introduced.

Subject: English

Activities done this week: 

  • Students enjoyed reciting rhymes during circle time.
  • Lowercase letter “a & b” was recapitulate this week along with its related objects.
  • Handout of letter “b” (butterfly) were given to the kids.
  • These activities helped the students develop cognitive and language skills.

 

Upcoming activities:

 

  •  Letter “c” will be focussed with its related objects.

  • Activities done this week:  Students enjoyed scribbling with crayons and chalks.

Activities done this week: Students recited several rhymes.

Activities done this week: Students had free play with the manipulatives.

  1. Students did balancing with the wooden blocks.
  2. Students were able to arrange the wooden blocks according to their sizes.
  3. They used roller pins for developing their fine motor and gross motor skills.
  • These activities helped the students develop  eye-hand coordination and physical gross motor skills.

  • Lower case letter “a” was recapitualted this week along with its related objects.
  • Lower case letter “b” was introduced along with its related objects.
  • These activities helped the students develop cognitive and language skills.

Upcoming activities/ HW: Letter “b” will be focussed with its related objects.

  • Kids enjoying “ear bud printing” to make a flag on occassion of Independence Day”.

Kids enjoying “Parachute Play”.

 

Subject: P.E-

Activities done this week: Students had free play with the manipulatives.

  • Students enjoyed “parachute play”.This Parachute Play for Toddlers activity is a great way to expel some excess energy and have fun in the process! It is great for gross motor development as the kids uses large muscles to shake the parachute. With the use of parachute games, through cooperative group play, a play parachute help build upper-body strengthening and muscle tone.
  • These activities helped the students develop  eye-hand coordination and physical gross motor skills.
