Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week:  

The learner profile which was followed this week on their topic ‘Migration’ was Knowledgeable. Students developed and used conceptual understanding and explored knowledge across a range of disciplines.They were engaged with issues and ideas that have local and global significance.

 

Upcoming activities / HW:

The learner profile attribute that we will emphasize next week based on their upcoming topic, will be Inquirer as students will develop their natural curiosity. They will acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and show independence in learning. They will actively enjoy inquiring about their new topic; and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

 

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

Activities done this week: 

TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME – Where  we are in place and time.

 

Central idea:  Human migration is a response to challenges, risks and opportunities.

 

Lines of inquiry: 

  • The reasons why people migrate
  • Migration throughout history
  • Effects of migration on communities, cultures and individual.

Activities done this week: 

  • Poem “Where the Mind Without Fear” by Rabindranath Tagore was done followed by a class discussion. 
  • A recap of the unit so far was done in preparation for the upcoming Summative assessment
  • Summative assessment was taken.
  • Student reflection was done.

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

 

ADDITION:

  • Students practiced addition of numbers by arranging them in proper place value.
  • Mental math addition activities by playing Addition High Fives in the class.
  • Students had a thought full activity of addition problems in the class.
  • Students also learned to solve the addition Math problems horizontally.

Subject: English

Activities done this week:    

 

Speaking:

Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed stories of family members who migrated to or from India. 

 

Grammar: Spelling rules were discussed.

 Indefinite articles were done. Definite articles were introduced

 

Reading : Students read a novel (Out of my mind) Chapters 6 to 10.

 

Writing: Students wrote a journal entry based on the ongoing unit. They were asked to add detail to their writing to make it more meaningful.

 

Guided Reading: There was no Guided Reading class this week as it was a holiday on Monday.

Activities done this week: 

  • دو حرفی الفاظ کو دو الگ رنگ سے لکھ کر بتایا گیا کہ کیسے دو حرفی الفاظ لکھا جاتا ہے ۔ ” املا ” لکھوایا گیا اور غلط الفاظ کی ۵ مرتبہ مشق کرنے کو کہا گیا ۔

  • دو حرفی الفاظ جو غلط لکھا آپ نے ان کی ۵-۵ مرتبہ مشق کریں ، اور تین حرفی الفاظ کے ” املا ” کی تیاری اچھی طرح کریں ۔ 
  • مشاعرہ کے لئے ” Booklate ” بنا کر اس میں کم از کم ۲۰ شعر لکھیں اور درجہ میں لگوائیں ۔ 

       

                                                    

Subject: Hindi

Activities done this week:

लिंग परिवर्तन  से अवगत कराया गया |छात्रों द्वारा  ही उदाहरण देते हुए कार्य को करवाया  गया |

पुनर्कथन करवाने  के उपरांत उससे सम्बंधित कार्य करवा गया  , जैसे_ अव्यवस्थित शब्दों को व्यवस्थित करवाया    गया,नियमानुसार स्त्रीलिंग अथवा पुल्लिंग शब्द तथा  वाक्य मे लेखन और पठन कर गया |

Subject: Telugu

Activities done this week: 

Students practiced varnamala, vattulu and guninthalu.

Students learned  to write singular and plural in Telugu.

Students wrote dictation in three and four letter words.

Subject: ICT

Activities done this week: Students started signing up to piktochart(poster editing) and learnt to create a poster on the given topic by inserting pictures ,changing writing styles.

 

Subject: P.E-

Activities done this week:students did high intense warm up. 

  • shuttle run (develops speed, stamina) 
  • dodge ball play (develops body movement).

 

Subject: Library

Activities done this week: Students listened to the story from the teacher through musical instruments, body language with follow up by the activity 3- panels story book, in which students described the story in 3 panels Beginning, Middle and End with the help of drawings or text.
