Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

 

Activities done this week: The learner profile focussed this week was Balanced. Students who are BALANCED are healthy and are aware that eating properly and exercising is important in their lives. They understand that it is important to have a balance between the physical and mental aspects of their bodies. They spend time doing many different things.

Upcoming activities/ HW: 

 How can parents help to develop students who are well-balanced at home?

o Encourage your child to participate in a wide variety of structured activities.

o During less structured time, also be aware of the activities that your child is participating in. Too much time in front of the computer or television is obviously not desirable, but all kids need to do a variety of things. Generally active kids should take time for quiet reading or reflection; students who spend a lot of time drawing or reading, should be encouraged to also exercise and play.

o Discuss the food groups with your child. Spend a few minutes during a mealtime deciding if what your family is eating is balanced.

 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

  • Students recapitulated vocabulary terms used in subtraction and practiced subtraction.
  • Students solved word problems on subtraction.

Subject: English

 Activities done this week:  

Listening and speaking: Students listened to the stories in the read aloud sessions, responded to the instructions given.

Reading :-Students read the stories of their choice. 

Writing :- Students were introduced to sequencing, recapitulated sight words and did a word search activity.

Activities done this week: ایک بڑے سے گروپ کو بنا کر سب بچوں نے ایک دوسرے کو ڈبے کو گہماتے ہوئے کھیل کھیلا اور ڈبے کے روکنے پر ان کو کوئی چیز کر کے دیکھایا۔

Activities done this week:Students learnt to insert bullets and numbering and they written golden rules for good health in a word document.

Activities done this week: students did basic warm up with stretching followed by relay race, using variations.

Activities done this week:The learner profile attribute focused this week was inquirer as they are conducting inquiry and getting information about the unit.

Students who are INQUIRERS are curious about the world. They can conduct research independently.

Students responded to the health related statements in groups, through bus stop activity, What does being fit & healthy mean to you, What action do you take to be healthy, What do you do to take care of yourselves, How do exercise affe

  • Students wrote Theme, Title, Central Idea, Key concepts in their notebook.
  • Students did a frayer model on the keyword from the central idea balanced choice.  
  • Students prepared a timetable on daily routine.

Students were engaged in watching a video on balanced diet.

  •  Encourage areas of your child’s interest by visiting the library to borrow books that explore these topics.

  • Students understood the concept of carry using base 10 blocks.
  • Students solved problems on addition with carry.
  • Mental math was done to enhance students thinking ability.

Activities done this week:

Grammar & Writing:- Students listen to the story and found the key words about adjectives, wrote the definition of adjectives with examples and match the adjectives with suitable nouns.  

 

  •  Assessment:- Students wrote Assessment on Verbs.

 

  • Listening & Speaking:-Students participated in the doughnut activity where in they listen to their partner and completed the sentence(descriptive sentences) using proper adjectives; will do character sketch activity.
  • Guided reading:-Students read the text according to their level and picked any ten words from the book and arranged them in the alphabetical order.
  • Task cards: Students read the text and carried out the following activity.

Activities done this week: For Art: Students did the drawing and colouring with worm and cool colours in their drawing books.

For Craft: Students made the friendship bands for their friends for friendship day.

Activities done this week: students did warm up followed by shuttle run which helps them to develop strength and speed.

Activities done this week: Students reflected on their learning by completing the reflection sheet 

  • Students answered a few questions related to LOI 3 and created secret messages in FA 3, 
  • Students did colour symbol image activity, and reflected on their learning – S.A
  •  Students responded to the health related statements in groups.

  • Reading & Writing:- Students read and completed the sentences by choosing the correct option of Present and Past Tense
  • Listening & Speaking:- Students listened to the stories in the read aloud sessions, responded to the instructions given,spoke about their daily routine in the circle time.

Activities done this week events: Students listened to the story from the teacher through musical instruments, body language with follow up by the activity 3- panels story book, in which students described the story in 3 panels Beginning, Middle and End with the help of drawings or text.
