Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week

The learner profile focussed this week was Balanced. Students who are BALANCED are healthy and are aware that eating properly and exercising is important in their lives. They understand that it is important to have a balance between the physical and mental aspects of their bodies. They spend time doing many different things.

Upcoming activities / HW:

 

How can parents help to develop students who are well-balanced at home?

o Encourage your child to participate in a wide variety of structured activities.

o During less structured time, also be aware of the activities that your child is participating in. Too much time in front of the computer or television is obviously not desirable, but all kids need to do a variety of things. Generally active kids should take time for quiet reading or reflection; students who spend a lot of time drawing or reading, should be encouraged to also exercise and play.

o Discuss the food groups with your child. Spend a few minutes during a mealtime deciding if what your family is eating is balanced

harmful choices  for physical, mental and social wellbeing and wrote the same in the note books.

carried out  a frayer model activity, were introduced to the unit vocabulary.

Listening and speaking: 

Students listened to the story my dad and identified the adjectives,  participated in the doughnut activity where in they listened to their partner and complete the sentences( descriptive sentences) using proper adjectives and nouns.

 

Reading: Students read the stories of their choice, were involved in the guided reading.

 

Writing & Grammar:

Students were introduced to the adjectives through a story with examples and matched the adjectives with suitable nouns, did character sketch activity, demonstrated their learning about  verbs in the assessment, were introduced to the Author study  watched a video to find out the life and work of Eric Carlle and made predictions.
