Activities done this week: The learner Profile attribute which was focussed this week was “Inquirer and communicator”. 

  •  Being an inquirer helps the child to develop curiosity. They acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and show independence in learning. They actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

 

 

  • Being a communicator students express themselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. They collaborate effectively, listen carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.”

 

 

CIRCLE TIME: Students recited rhymes.

They inquired about different vegetables through picture reading.

THEME: SHARING THE PLANET

TOPIC: PLANTS & ANIMALS

Activities done this week: 

  1. Students recapitulated fruits and inquired more about vegetables through hands on activities.
  2. Students inquired about the benefits of eating vegetables.
  3. They were able to distinguish between the vegetables that can be eaten raw and the vegetables which can be eaten only when cooked.

    • Activities done this week: Students recapitulated numbers 1-9 with their values.
    • They recapitulated the concept “few-many” through hands on activities.

 

  • Students recapitulated shapes. And learnt new shape “oval”

 

  • These activities helped the students develop cognitive and pre math skills.

Activities done this week: Students recited rhymes during circle time.

  • Students recapitulated letters with their related objects.
  • They learnt new letter “j” with its related objects.
  • Students enjoyed reading picture books.
  • These activities helped the students develop cognitive and language skills.

READING: Students were able to identify the pictures through reading books.

  • Activities done this week: Students enjoyed scribbling on slates.
  • The kids enjoyed doing vegetables printing using lady finger in their scrap books
