Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week: The learner profile which was followed this week on their ongoing topic ‘Peace and Conflict’ was Thinker. Thinkers exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.

Upcoming activities / HW: The learner profile which will be followed next week in connection to our unit ‘Peace and Conflict’ is Inquirer. Students will develop their natural curiosity. They will acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and show independent learning. They will actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME – Sharing the planet

Topic: Peace and Conflict 

Central idea:  Finding peaceful solutions to conflict leads to a better quality of human life 

 

Lines of inquiry: 

  • Causes of conflict 
  • Conflict resolution and management 
  • Living and working together peacefully

Activities done this week: 

  • In connection to the PYP Exhibition, Students identified UN as the peacemaking body of the world and watched videos on how UN makes life sustainable on Earth.  
  • Students did an inquiry in how UN makes life sustainable on Earth and discussed about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
  • Students made a video on how bad habits damage our environment and presented it in the Assembly.
  • A recapitulation of the entire unit was done for the upcoming SA.

 

Upcoming activities/ HW:  Summative Assessment will be conducted on Monday. List down all the Sustainable Development Goals along with their colour and symbol in your PYPX notebook.

 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

Number system ( Division)

  • Students practice division problems by Top and Bottom method.
  • This method led the students understand the method of division very well. 
  • Students were able to divide a number by 1 digit, 2 digits and 3 digit very easily.

Division practice problems given in c.w.

 

Subject: English

Activities done this week:   

Speaking:

  • Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed their understanding of the unit ‘Peace and Conflict’ and shared it with the class.
  • Students learned new words and their synonyms and used them while conversing with peers and teachers.
  • JAM session was conducted. Students learned vocabulary to replace commonly used words and enhance their speech.

Writing: 

  • Students wrote a journal entry based on the ongoing unit. They were asked to add detail to their writing to make it more meaningful.

Reading: 

  • Author study was done. 
  • Students read levelled books during Guided Reading.        

 

Subject: Urdu

Activities done this week: “ یوم اردو “ کے لئے طلباء سے “ اسکٹ “ بعنوان “ فطرت “  لکھوایا گیا تاکہ بچوں میں لکھنے کی مہارت پیدا ہو۔ اور اسے تین گروپ میں تقسیم کر دیا گیا جو گروپ اچھی طرح پیش کرے گا وہی حصہ لے سکتا ہے ۔ 

“ اسٹوری ویور” کی کہانیاں پڑھوائی گئیں تاکہ ان کی تقریری صلاحیت دیکھی جا سکے ۔ اور بنگلور سے ۲ دسمبر کو آنے والے مہمان کے سامنے طلباء کہونیوں کو پڑھ کر سنا سکیں ۔

Upcoming activities/ HW:  سبھی بچوں کو جن کا انتخاب ہوا ہے اسکٹ کے لئے انہیں اپنا مکالمہ یاد کرنا ہے تاکہ اسکٹ کو اچھی طرح پیش کر سکیں ۔ 

اس کے علاوہ تحریری مقابلہ میں شرکت کے لئے روزانہ لکھنے کی مشق کریں تاکہ ۱۹ دسمبر کو تحریری مقابلہ میں حصہ لے سکیں ۔ ہر روز ایک نظم یا کہانی دس منٹ میں لکھیں اوت خود کو تیار کریں. 

                                                    

Subject: Hindi

Activities done this week:

पाठ से सम्बंधित कहानी (दक्षिण आफ्रिका मे गाँधी जी ) को सुनाया  गया | उस कहानी से सम्बंधित प्रश्न के उत्तर पूछे गए | उस कथा के कठिन शब्द लिखाए  गए जिसके अर्थ छात्र ढूढ़ कर लिखा |

कहानी के चित्र कक्षा मे छात्रों को दिए गए | उस चित्र सम्बंधित कहानी को छात्रों ने बताया  और अपने शब्दों मे लिखा |

गद्यांश को पहले  कक्षा मे अध्यापिका द्वारा पढ़ा गया  ,उसके उपरांत छात्रों ने समूहिक रूप से पढ़ा  उसके पश्चात छात्र ने व्यक्तिगत रूप से पढ़ कर प्रश्न बनाए   |

Activities done this week

1.Students completed the colours names worksheet.

2.Students read and wrote the Samyuktha Aksharalu.

3.Students wrote dictation in Three and four letter words.

Upcoming activities/ HW:  Complete the given work.

Subject: Art

Activities done this week:  For Art: The students completed drawing for the painting in their books.

For Craft: The students started joining the petals to make a flower with the cello tape and binding wire.

 

Subject: Music

Activities done this week: Students practiced for the school assembly presentation.

Subject: ICT

Activities done this week: Students did an inquiry on PYPX exhibition and started working on google docs by creating questions and shared with their peers to reflect on it.

Subject: P.E-

Activities done this week:Sports day practice (students practicing for march past,followed by shuttle run to develop their endurance and stamina.

Activities done this week: students did the activity If I were an Author. The title of my book…. The cover of my book … and My book would be about……
