Subject: Learner Profile

Activities done this week: The learner profile which was followed this week on their ongoing topic ‘Identity’ was Thinker. Thinkers exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems and make reasoned ethical decisions.

 

Upcoming activities / HW: The learner profile which will be followed next week in connection to our unit ‘Identity’ is Inquirer. Students will develop their natural curiosity. They will acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and show independent learning. They will actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

 

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME – How We Express Ourselves

Topic: Identity 

Central idea:  A person’s behaviour & how they choose to present themselves project aspects of their identity

Lines of inquiry: 

  • How appearance & behaviour influence our perception of others.
  • The influence of cultural & Social norms on how we choose to present ourselves
  • Fashion as a form of expression

Activities done this week: 

  • Students unscrambled and did breaking up of central idea word by word for a better understanding.
  • Students shared their traditions, culture, hobbies and habits with their peers.
  • Students had a PYPX session and they coined the Central Idea based on their topic.
  • Student sorted out the 17 goals under People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace and Partnership.

 

Upcoming activities / HW:

Tweak the Central Idea for the PYPX. Design a logo and motto for the Exhibition (based on the topic – Sustainable Development goals) 

 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

MEASUREMENTS (Angles)

  • Students were introduced to the new topic Angles wherein the teacher showed the importance of angles and the consequence if an angles changes in a situation.
  • Students were able to relate the topic with different examples.
  • Students were also shown the use of a protractor to measure an angle.
  • Students did the measurement activity wherein the angles were drawn on the floor and the students measured them in pairs. 
  • Students were made very clear on the placement of protractor.

Subject: English

Activities done this week 

Speaking:

  • Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students came up with new words from the dictionary and tried to frame sentences.

Writing: 

  • Students wrote a journal entry based on the ongoing unit. They were asked to add detail to their writing to make it more meaningful.   

Reading: 

  • Novel study was done. 
  • Students read levelled books during Guided Reading.  

 

Upcoming activities/ HW: Learn the spellings given in Spell drill book.

संज्ञा और सर्वनाम  मे पुनर्कथन करवाया गया | उसके पश्चात  विशेषण उपविषय से अवगत करवाया गया |विशेषण  स्पष्टीकरण द्वारा परिभाषा सहित समझाया और लिखाया गया |

Students read and write the vattu words and sentences. [క్క, గ్గ, చ్చ].

Students wrote dictation in క్క vattu words and sentences.

Students read, identify the words of dvitva and samyukta padalu using Telugu news paper.

Complete the work has been given.

Activities done this week: Students learnt the features of google slides and they started creating a presentation on sports day by changing layout in google slides.

Activities done this week: Sports day practice (students practising for march past), and also explained about the rules and regulations for track and field events
