Subject: Learner Profile               

 

Activities done this week: The learner profile which was followed this week in connection to our ongoing unit ‘Governance’ was Inquirer. Students developed their natural curiosity. They acquired the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and showed independent learning. They actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

 

Upcoming activities / HW: The learner profile attribute that will be explained next week based on our ongoing unit ‘Governance’ will be Knowledgeable. Students will develop and use conceptual understanding and explore knowledge across a range of disciplines. Students will engage with issues and ideas that have local and global significance.

 

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

TRANSDISCIPLINARY THEME – How We Organise Ourselves

Topic: Governance 

Central idea: Government systems influence the lives of citizens 

Lines of inquiry: 

  • How government systems function
  • How decision-making practices reflect human rights
  • Impact of Government on citizens
  • The rights and responsibilities of citizenship

 

Activities done this week: 

  • Summative Assessment for the unit Identity was done. A Fashion Show was organised and students dressed up as their favourite character/role model and shared their inspiration with peers.
  • Students did a tuning in activity for the new unit. They played a blindfold game and guided their peers in reaching a target.
  • Students discussed the conditions of various countries in the world and how the decision of leaders affect citizens.
  • Students did a word splash activity in understanding aspects of Government.

 

Upcoming activities/ HW: Complete the Holiday Homework assigned for the PYP Exhibition. 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: Measurements (Angles)

  • Students learned about complementary and supplementary angles.
  • Students solved problems to check if two angles are complementary or supplementary.

Subject: English

Activities done this week:  

Speaking:

 

Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed their understanding of the Global Goals and shared it with the class. Students learned new words and their synonyms and used them while conversing with peers and teachers.JAM session was conducted. Students learned vocabulary to replace commonly used words and enhance their speech.

Writing

 

Students wrote a journal entry based on the ongoing unit. They were asked to add detail to their writing to make it more meaningful. 

A handwriting session was organised to help students understand the art of cursive writing. Strokes and letters were taught and practised.

 

Reading:

Novel study was done. Students read levelled books during Guided Reading.       

Upcoming activities/ HW: Read a book of your choice from home or BOLO app (available on both Android and IOS) and summarize it.

क्रिया  मे पुनर्कथन करवाया गया | उसके पश्चात  काल उपविषय से अवगत करवाया गया | काल को  स्पष्टीकरण द्वारा परिभाषा सहित समझाया और लिखाया गया  |

काल मे  पुनर्कथन करवाया  गया | उसके पश्चात  कुछ वाक्य दिए गए उन वाक्यों को  पढ़कर सूचनानुसार परिवर्तन कर लिखा गया  |
