The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that was explained this week for their unit ROLE MODEL was being OPEN-MINDED. It means that we are willing to try new things or to hear and consider new ideas. An example of an open minded person is one who listens to their opponent in a debate to see if the information makes sense to reflect and change our mind. It was great to see the children being REFLECTIVE putting on their thinking caps by identifying the different (positive & negative) qualities about their Role model, and also trying to be open-minded and changing their views.

  1. Students identified & reflected on the qualities of their role models through BUS STOP ACTIVITY.
  2. Students recollected their vocabulary words for the topic to make a word cloud.
  3. Students made a poster of their role model.
  4. Students sorted out a few names given in the 2 columns(Hero/celebrity)
  5. Students defined the meaning of a Hero & a Celebrity in their own words, after they watched the video.

Students found many new vocabulary words.
Students found meanings and synonyms for the given words using thesaurus and dictionary.
Students brainstormed to find out the qualities required in their role model.
Students found their role model and wrote how and why they chose them.

Students were able to compare the place values with both Number Systems.

Passed: Dear Parents we celebrated FATHER’S DAY with great gusto & enthusiasm, we really appreciate the fathers of( MAAZ ARSHAD BAIG, SYED TALIB ALI MOOSVI, MIR SABER HUSSAIN MOOSVI & SYEDA ARSHIYA FATIMA), who took out time from their busy schedules to share their experiences and goodies with our children.

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that was explained this week for their unit ROLE MODEL was being an INQUIRER & THINKER. It means to gather, ask, do research to get new ideas and put on their thinking caps, scratch their heads about different qualities that their role model should possess. It was great to see the children being little inquirers putting on their thinking caps by identifying the different qualities about their Role model, and also trying to understanding and absorb the new information gathered. Children were very excited and enthusiastic to find out more and become keen learners about their unit.
