Activities done this week:

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTE that was explained this week for their unit Natural Hazards was being an INQUIRER & THINKER. It was great to see the children being inquirers putting on their thinking caps by identifying the different forms of natural disasters, inquiring about it, getting their pictures, imagining and drawing what it looks like.

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES that we will emphasize next week as well will be INQUIRERS & THINKERS. UNIT:-  Natural Hazards

CENTRAL IDEA:-  Human beings have devised ways to prepare for and cope with hazards.

LINES OF INQUIRY:-  

1.The different natural disasters.

  1. The impact of hazards on the environment.
  2. Ways in which people cope with hazards.

LEARNING ENGAGEMENTS:

        Finding out :

  • Students were  introduced to LOI-1{ The different natural disaster} .They watched the videos ,identified, discussed and wrote the definition of different natural disasters. {Earthquake ,Flood , Volcano,Tsunami,Hurricanes,Tornado,Drought, Landslide ,Wildfire Blizzard, Avalanches}
  • Students continued with their learning about different forms of disasters.They watched the video on earthquake and discussed the following questions.1. What is an earthquake. 2. How and why earthquakes happen? 3. How are earthquakes measured? 4.. How can scientists predict earthquakes and avoid hazards.5.Precautions to be taken.
  • Students continue their learning about different forms of natural disasters through inquiry-reading and writing notes using books from the library{Blizzard, Avalanche,flood,Drought}
  • Students watched the videos to find out the differences between Hurricane, Tornado, and wrote it down in their notebooks.
  • Students were brainstormed on Reasons/causes for the disaster to happen  and answered the given questions in their notebooks .
  •  Students had a discussion on the models to be made on natural disasters(project work)

Activities done this week: 

Numbers

  • Students practiced problems of subtraction.
  • Students learned the concept of borrowing and why and how do we borrow.
  • Students learned to solve questions of subtraction when a question is twisted and presented.

  • Practice problems given in class work.

READING & WRITING:-   

  1. Sight words and vocabulary words recap was done .
  2. Students wrote the vocabulary words related to unit.

Listening and SPEAKING:

  1. The teacher read out the books(Global Warming, Volcanoes,How Hurricanes happen) from the library on different forms of Natural Hazards(circle time activity).

  GRAMMAR:- .

  1. Students were introduced to Future tense.
  2. Students did practice exercise in their notebooks.

Upcoming activities/ HW:

  • HW given in grammar notebooks. Prepare for assessment in Verbs and verb tenses.

Activities done this week:  

تین حرفی الفاظ کو پڑھایا اور لکھایا گیا ، اور اس کا اختبار بھی لیا گیا اپنے بچوں کی کاپی دیکھین اگر طالب علم کی کاپی میں الفاظ لال رنگ سے کیا ہوا دکحَ تو سمجھیں کہ ان الفاظ کو پڑھنے نہیں آیا ۔ اور اگر سبز رنگ نظر آئے تو سمجھیں وہ الفاظ بچہ لکھ سکتا ہے ۔

Activities done this week: 

प्राकृतिक आपदा  किसे कहते है वो किस प्रकार होती है ?उससे सम्बंधित प्रश्न पूछे गए ?प्राकृतिक आपदा से सम्बंधित शब्दों को पढ़ाया और लिखाया गया |

प्राकृतिक आपदा से सम्बन्धित (धरती की करवट)  कविता मे स्पष्टीकरण किया गया | उसके उपरांत कविता को पढ़ाया और लिखाया गया |

शब्द माला को समझाया गया और उनको आकृति देते हुए उसमे शब्द माला को पढ़ाया और लिखाया गया |

Students practised varnamala.

Upcoming activities/ HW: students did basic warm up followed by shuttle run with variations which helps them to develop stamina and endurance.

Activities done this week: Explanation given to the students about 5 W’s and 1H and were asked to read the story and make questions related to the story.
