Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week: The learner profile attribute focused upon this week was “Principled” and “communicator” as students participated in brainstorming discussions and worked in groups to draft a good introduction in English and to sort animals according to their feeding and living habits. 

Upcoming activities / HW: For being a good role model for your child, when there is a subject that you also don’t have an idea about, admit your lack of knowledge and offer to search the solutions together. This helps build good “inquirer” qualities in the children


Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

Theme: Sharing the planet

Title: Adaptation

Central Idea: Overtime living things need to adapt in order to survive.

Lines of Inquiry: 

  • Characteristics of the major habitat/biomes
  • Physical adaptations and behavioral adaptations that allow an animal to survive in their biome
  • Connection between animals and the people in those habitats

Activities done this week: 

Finding Out 

This week the students

  • classified different animals according to their feeding habits (Carnivores,Herbivores, Omnivores and Parasites) 
  • classified animals according to their habitats as aerial, arboreal, amphibian, aquatic and terrestrial.
  • classified animals under animals with and without skeleton (vertebrate and invertebrate)

Sorting Out

  • Completed a Carroll diagram by filling up information about flora and fauna with specific feeding habits & corresponding habitats in their notebook

Upcoming activities/ HW: Complete the Carroll diagram given in notebook and learn unit vocabulary (spell drill on Monday 16/12/19) 


Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

  • Students were introduced to division by doing an activity using color papers and chocolates. 
  • Students discussed about math exhibition. 
  • Students learned and practiced division using repeated subtraction. 
  • Students learned and practice division on a number line.

Reflection and formative assessment in adverbs

Reading and Writing 

  • Students read different stories in groups and came up with 2 points they liked about the introduction of their story and 1 point that they would like to change 
  • Students then presented their points to the whole class and finally drafted different ways or points to be kept in mind in order to write a good introduction.
  • As a whole class an introduction was finalized for “Christmas eve” and then students worked in groups to write a good introduction

Guided Reading and Author Study 

  • Students read story at an appropriate level,independently,confidently and with good understanding and will find out meanings and also practice related grammar and write in their guided reading notebook.
  • New books by Dr.Seuss issued to the students. Students read the introduction of their books in front of the class.

Upcoming activities/ HW: Write an introduction for prompt given in Literature book. FA in synonyms and pronouns on tue (17/12/19)

Activities done this week

कक्षा  मे मात्राओ मे पुनर्कथन करवाया  गया |उसके पश्चात उ की मात्रा से अवगत करवाया गया | उ की मात्रा लगाकर अक्षर तथा शब्द  लिखना बताया गया |:

उ की मात्रा मे पुनर्कथन करवाया गया  | स्पष्टीकरण द्वारा वाक्य बनाना बताया  गया | कुछ शब्द दिए गए ,जिसके वाक्य स्वयं छात्रों द्वारा बनाए गए |  

आ ,इ ई और उ की मात्रा के शब्द कक्षा मे अध्यापिका द्वारा कहे गए  विद्यार्थीयो ने उन शब्दों को सुनकर लिखा | उसके पश्चात कुछ चित्र दिए  गए , जिसे पहचान कर छात्र उसका नाम लिखा गया |
