Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week: Learner profile attributes focussed on this week were “reflective” as children reflected on their learning and recognised areas of improvement. Kids must know the value of being “principled” that is to act with integrity and honesty and they took responsibility for their actions.


Upcoming activities / HW: Instill the values of being a good “communicator” in your child, to express himself concisely and confidently and listen to the ideas of other students attentively.


Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

Theme: Where we are in place and time

Central Idea: The Earth’s physical geography has an impact on human interactions and settlements

Lines of Inquiry:

1. Variability of physical features around the world – form                               

2. The relationship between location and settlement- connection   

3. Impact of human interaction on physical environment – causation


Activities done this week: This week the students

Making Connection

  • related different aspects of human settlements to the corresponding landforms through shared reading

  • presented their inquiry to the class regarding lifestyle of human settlements to landforms and consolidated their learning in their notebooks

Finding Out

  • used directions to locate an object on a grid through Think Pair Share activity

  • identified latitudes and longitudes

Sorting Out

  • learned the seven continents of the world through “continent song” https://youtu.be/K6DSMZ8b3LE and marked continents and oceans on a world map outline

Upcoming activities/ HW: Prepare well for FA2 to be conducted on Monday, 16 September 2019


  • Table about human settlements in different landforms

  • Marking 7 continents and 5 oceans on world map outline


Activities done this week:

  • Students identified odd and even numbers and understood the concept by doing an activity in which they wrote their parents phone numbers and checked if it is odd or even number.

  • Students recalled subtraction and learned vocabulary terms used for subtraction.

  • Students practiced subtraction problems with and without carry.

  • Practice worksheet given.

Activities done this week:  


This week the students

  • analysed use of “can” and “could” based on ability and possibility

  • synthesised use of “will” and “would”

  • analysed usage of “should” with examples

  • articulated the modal verbs used for asking questions in different situations

Reading and Writing

Students wrote several sentences using modal verbs and filled up journals demonstrating reflection of different subjects


Spell drill done and new sight words given

Novel Study

Students read chapter 3 of the novel and summarised the same

Upcoming activities/ HW: Sight Words spell drill on Saturday, 14/09/19. Complete the comprehension given in the literature notebook and answer the given questions.

Activities done this week: Students learnt to design  table and they inserted table by writing types of landforms in powerpoint document.
