Activities done this week

 This week the students were engaged as “Inquirers” as they learned more about different landforms and also identified different landforms on map thus portraying “Inquirer” and “thinker” learner profiles. 

 

Upcoming activities / HW:

 Encourage children to be “reflective” and reflect on their learning and know where they need to improve. Kids must know the value of being “principled” that is to act with integrity and honesty as they take responsibility for their actions. If any action of your child displays their learning, please share their snaps with us with a short caption.

 

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

THEME:- Where we are in place and time

TOPIC:-  Landforms and settlements

CENTRAL IDEA:-  The earth’s physical geography has an impact on human interactions and settlements

LINES OF INQUIRY:-

1.Variability of physical geography around the world

2.The relationship between location and settlement

3.Impact of human interactions on the physical environment

  • Students wrote the differences between (Mountains- Hills/ Ocean- Sea / Map-Globe / Hail-Snow / Lake- Pond / Island- Peninsula). They also watched a video to identify the different landforms

  • Students did a dinosaur landform activity wherein they identified and marked the different landforms
  • Students did a Frayer’s model on one of the landforms to understand the concept of landforms. 
  • Students did a BINGO activity to identify different forms of landforms
  • Students assessed themselves in the first line of inquiry as FA1
  • Students did a shared reading for their second line of inquiry- The relationship between location and settlement. They did a shared reading for topics-( Oceans & Rivers, Deserts,Arctic & Tundra, Mountains & Volcanoes, Forests) and identified the definition, climate type, flora and fauna and occupation.

Look at page 102 of Atlas. Find out the given landforms, circle them on map and write the answers in the blanks.

 

Subject: Math

Activities done this week: 

  • Students recapitulated word problems of addition.
  • Students recall odd and even numbers and enhanced their thinking ability by doing an activity on odd and even numbers.

Guided Reading:

Students read stories for their appropriate levels,independently/ through teacher’s assistance, with good understanding. They read the text, identified the difficult words to understand their meaning.

 

Grammar:

  • This week students were given an introduction of Modal verbs. They watched the following videos to get an understanding of the verbs.

  • Students wrote the definition of modal verbs. They also wrote about the different types of modal verbs which are used frequently
  • Students wrote the different modal verbs and their types along with examples.
  • Students played a Ludo game for irregular verbs. They changed the tense of the listed verbs in order to move ahead in the game.
  • Students assessed themselves in verb tenses.  

 

  Writing:

Write 5 sentences using modal verbs “Can” as  ability and “Can” as a possibility.

 

Literature & Spell drill:

 Write all the highlighted sight words 3 times using different colored pencils.

 

Grammar:

Modal verbs worksheet given as HW.

بچوں کو تین حرفی الفاظ پڑھایا لکھایا اور اختبار لیا گیا ۔ اس کے علاوہ بچوں کو گلینڈل اکیڈمی کے پرواگرام میں شرکت کے لئے تیار کیا گیا تاکہ وہ اچھی طرح شرکت کر سکیں ۔ ماشاع اللہ اچھی طرح شرکت کیا البتہ ۳۰ اسکول کے طلاب کے درمیان اپنے بچوں کی محنت رنگ لائی اور انعامات بھی آئے۔

आकलन के लिए कक्षा मे  पुन;अवलोकन करवाया गया ,उसके उपरांत तीन अक्षर वाले शब्दों मे आकलन लिया गया |

 पुनर्कथन करवाया  गया ,उसके उपरांत तीन अक्षर वाले शब्दों  की कविता को पढ़ाया और लिखाया  गया |
