Subject: Learner Profile            

Activities done this week

This week the learner profile attributes the students focused is “Inquirers”. The students showed interest in different land forms of the earth. They were excited to learn about the planets, oceans and continents. They also learnt the “ Land form rap song” the link of which is uploaded below. The students enjoyed the activities done in the class

 

Upcoming activities / HW:

Next week the students will focus on being “Inquirers” and indulge further into the topic. They will also assess themselves in the first LOI next week.

 

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

THEME:- Where we are in place and time

TOPIC:-  Land forms and settlements

CENTRAL IDEA:-  The earth’s physical geography has an impact on human interactions and settlements

LINES OF INQUIRY:-

1.Variability of physical geography around the world

2.The relationship between location and settlement

3.Impact of human interactions on the physical environment

 

Activities done this week: 

  • Students identified and label different land forms from the list of words, and did color, symbol, image activity(VISIBLE THINKING ROUTINES)
  • Students watched the videos related to continents and land forms to have a deeper understanding of the topic

  • Students watched the videos related to continents, oceans and different land forms. They also drew different land forms to get a better understanding of land form concept.

  • Students did a Dictogloss activity for land forms. They reconstructed a short text by listening and noting down keywords, which were then used as a base for reconstruction.

 

Upcoming activities/ HW: 

Students  will revise the vocabulary of land forms for dictation on Monday. They will also assess themselves in LOI-1

Activities done this week:

 

  • Students recalled vocabulary terms of addition word problems. They learned steps to solve the word problems.

 

  • Students practiced addition word problems.
  • Students wrote assessment in addition.

Activities done this week:  

Guided Reading:

Students read stories for their appropriate levels,independently/ through teacher’s assistance, with good understanding. They read the text, identified the verbs and changed the verb tenses to past tenses and wrote it in their notebooks.

Grammar:

  •  Students read texts at an appropriate level, independently, confidently and with good understanding. They wrote the Title of the text, level no and did match the following task.
  • Students demonstrated more understanding of verbs through application of knowledge and practice work.
  • Students demonstrated more understanding of irregular verbs through change of verb tenses in sentences.
  • Students assessed themselves in spell drill words and wrote the spelling test according to their group levels.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Upcoming Activities/Hw:

Literature:

  • Students will write the next 10 spell drill words according to their grouped levels. They will read the words and write it down using different colors. 

:Writing:

  • Students will revise the verb tenses  for assessment

Activities done this week:

  • دو حرفی ، تین حرفی الفاظ کی تقریری صلاحیت پیدا کرنے کے لئے شیٹ دی گئی جس میں ۹۰ الفاظ ایسے لکھے ہیں جن میں تینوں حرف علیحدہ ہیں  ۔ تاکہ بچوں کو بنا ملے ہوئے تین حرفی الفاظ با آسانی پڑھنے آجائے ۔  
  • بچوں کو نظم لکھوانا تاکہ ان میں تحریری شعور بیدار ہو اور بورڈ پر سے نقل کرنے کی عادت پڑ سکے ۔ ” نقل ” کی عادت ڈالنا ضروری ہے تاکہ ان میں تحریری صلاحیت کو اجاگر کیا جا سکے۔ نظم ” پرندے کی فریاد ” اور ” ہوا چلی ” لکھنا اور پڑھنا سکھایا گیا ۔

  • تین حرفی الفاظ کا تقریری اور تحریری اختبار ہو گا اگلے ہفتے اسے پڑھنے کے ساتھ لکھنا سیکھیں ۔

पुनर्कथन करवाया गया ,उसके उपरांत वर्णों को अव्यवस्थित करके व्यवस्थित करवाया गया और तीन अक्षर वाले शब्दों मे वाचन करवाया  गया |

पुनर्कथन करवाया गया ,उसके उपरांत तीन अक्षर वाले शब्दों मे कविता को पढ़ाया और लिखाया  गया |

Activities done this week: Students learnt to insert bullets ,they learnt change layout of slide and they written the vocabulary related to there on going topic Land forms.

Activities done this week: students did basic warm up with stretching, followed by handball play which helps them to develop coordination.

 

Subject: Library

Activities done this week: 

Explanation given to the students about 5 W’s and 1 H and were asked to read the story and frame questions related to the story.
