Activities done this week:

The learner profile attribute explained for this week was “Inquirer” as the students inquired about the physical and behavioral adaptations. They learnt about the different types of animals based on habitat their physique and behavior.

Upcoming activities / HW:

Next week the students will learn about the connection between animals and the people in those habitats.

Subject: Unit Of Inquiry

Theme: Sharing the planet

Title: Adaptation

Central Idea: Overtime living things need to adapt in order to survive.

Lines of Inquiry: 

    • Characteristics of the major habitat/biomes

 

  • Physical adaptations and behavioral adaptations that allow an animal to survive in their biome

 

  • Connection between animals and the people in those habitats

 

Activities done this week: 

Finding Out:

  •       Students defined the inquiry of behavioral adaptation through Rally Robin.They defined the behavioral terms (Hibernation, Defense, Migration, Mimicry and Camouflage).

Sorting Out:

  • Students sorted behavioral adaptations like Hibernation, Defense, Migration, Mimicry and Camouflage along with their characteristics and types
  • Students compiled challenges faced in each biome by illustrating corresponding physical/behavioral adaptation of flora and fauna.

Going Further:

  • Students analyzed the challenges of each biome and their corresponding physical adaptation of flora and fauna.
  • Students presented challenges and the corresponding physical adaptations along with their characteristics and types.

Upcoming activities/ HW: 

Next week the students will assess themselves for physical and behavioral adaptations.

Activities done this week: 

  • Students practice division as repeated subtraction.
  • Students discussed about math exhibition and their topics.
  • Students learn the relationship between multiplication and division.
  • Students learned definitions of dividend, divisor, quotient and remainder. 
  • Students learned properties of division.

Activities done this week:  

Guided Reading and Novel Study:

  • Students will read story at an appropriate level, independently, confidently and with good understanding and will find out meanings and also practice related grammar and write in their guided reading notebook.
  • New book” The adventures of Mooli” issued to the students. Students read a brief summary of the story and answered the questions.

Grammar:

  • Students assessed themselves for Synonyms and Antonyms

Reading and Writing:

  • Students did “Two stars and a wish” for the main body to recognize two areas in which they felt supported(stars)and one area in which they can use more support(wish).
  • Students reflected their findings and analysed different story main body and recognized how they were similar or different in groups and shared their findings with the class.
  • Students framed sentences on “My camel” and wrote an introduction and main body.

Write a good “Introduction and main body” for “My favourite book”.

اردو زبان پڑھنے والے طلباء اور طالبات کے لئے ” یوم اردو ” منایا گیا جس میں درجہ تین کے لئے جام سیشن تھا جس میں کچھ بچوں نے حصہ لیا اور کامیاب بھی ہوئے ۔ ایک منٹ میں ” ماحولیات ” کے عنوان سے تقریر کرنا تھا ۔

Washrooms (playing with water, throwing water on each other) Clean tables in classroom during the PE period
