Activities done this week: The learner profile which is focussed this week is Inquirer as the students learn the uses of Water in our daily life.

Central Idea: Water is essential to life and is a limited resource for many people.

 Lines of Inquiry: 1) Sources of water and how water is used.

                                    2) Responsibilities towards the water.

                                     3) Distribution and availability of water.

Activities done this week:  

Tuning in:

  • Students discuss they h.w with their friends.
  • Students unfold the central idea with the help of the teacher. 
  • Students brainstorm the unit vocabulary and wrote in their notebook. 

Finding out:

  • Students create y chart in a group (how the water looks like, feels like and sounds like)

Going further for ongoing Unit  Celebration:

  • Students identify and discuss the symbols that relate to different festivals. 
  • Recap the unit celebration and brainstorm the festival celebrated in this month.
  • Students showed their patriotism towards the country by celebrating a Republic day in a special assembly.
  • Completed the colour symbol image worksheet on different festivals.

  • Students recap 2D shapes and identify various polygons (i.e., pentagons, hexagons, heptagons, octagons).
  • Students create polygons on their geoboards.
  • Students drew the polygons and wrote their properties in their notebook.
  • Students strengthen their knowledge of Polygons.

Reading and writing:

  • Students read and made sentences using sight words in a notebook. 

Listening and speaking:

  • Students listened to the story in the read-aloud and answered the questions. 


  • Students identified compound words through real objects.
  • Students wrote compound words in their notebooks.
  • Students brainstorm the two simple words to make a meaningful word.
  • Students strengthen the knowledge of compound words through wheel activity and wrote in their worksheet.

Formative Assessment: Students show their understanding of pronoun and sight words in the assessment.
