DESCRIPTION:As part of our Parent Orientation Programme, we had the privilege of hosting Ms Teenaz Reporter, AMI Primary Trainer for the 3–6 age group and Director of Training for the AMI Primary Diploma Course. The session was attended by our parents, fellow educators from various schools, and school leaders.\nThe talk was about “how parents and educators should work together to support the development of children?” She also explained how both parents and educators can\n* Give opportunities to do things\n* Give clear and consistent limits, avoiding negative statements\n* Be patient and have faith in children.\n* Let go of our anger and pride\n* No rewards and no punishments\n* Must respond to the child and not react\nMs Teenaz concluded the session by stressing that children should be given choices and guided to make educated decisions, while adults remain firm and do not give in to tantrums. Such informed choices help children develop intrinsic motivation, independence, confidence, and self-discipline.\nTowards the end, parents and educators were actively engaged by asking numerous thoughtful questions, reflecting their deep absorption of the topic and their enthusiasm to be responsible partners.
