  •  Students in groups were asked to think of uses of water in specific settings. 
  • Students  made a spider web in order to show the uses of water in their notebooks.

 

  • Students were involved in shared reading about different uses and sources of water and discuss them in groups
  • Students inquire about the topic water through zoom in activity by watching the  google earth and find out major part of earth covered with water. 

 

  • Students showed their understanding of Color, Symbol and Image of their favorite festival in F.A- 3

  • Students were identified  grams and kilograms by watching videos.
  • Students got deep understanding of kilograms and grams by activity done with real objects like chocolates, lays chips packet, mixture packets etc.

  • Students strengthen their knowledge of grams and kilograms by drawing  real objects related to gm and kg.
  • Students  wrote the definition of grams and kilograms in their notebooks.
  • Students draw some objects of gm and kg in their notebook and showed the difference.

Activities done this week:  لب پہ آتی ہے دعا اور اب تک کے سیکھائی گئی نظمیں ,نظم برسات اور کدو میاںکی شادی کو زبانی پڑھا گیا حروف تہجی کے تمام حروف  کو بورڈ پر لکھا اور حروف اور ان کی آوازوں کو پڑھا گیا اس کے علاوہ حروف علت ا و ی ے کی آوازوں کو دبارہ سے یاد کرتے ہوئے حروف علت کے حرف الف کے ساتھ ملا کر تمام حروف تہجی کو لکھا اور پڑھا گیا۔

Activities done this week: The learner profile which was followed this week in connection to our ongoing unit ‘Governance’ was Inquirer. Students developed their natural curiosity. They acquired the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and showed independent learning. They actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.

Upcoming activities / HW: The learner profile which will be followed next week on their ongoing topic ‘Governance” will be Thinker. Thinkers exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.

  • Students inferred the meaning of UDHR(Universal Declaration of Human Rights) and rights in pairs and found out the meaning using dictionary and explained in their own words.

  • Students did conjunctions exercises and identified the correct conjunctions. They also made sentences with conjunctions using”FANBOYS”.

Writing:

  • Students were introduced to formal letters. They pre-assessed themselves for formal letter.
  • Students were introduced to different types of leave letters(suffering from fever, death in the family, marriage function, hospitalized due to an injury or a fall). 
  • Students learnt the format of formal letter and wrote in their notebook

Activities done this week: Students had first hand experienced of the tools of carpenter who was invited as guest in related to the unit community helper. Students were taken on a nature walk and as a follow up activity they tick the animals they saw. Mind mapping was done.

The LEARNER PROFILE ATTRIBUTES that was explained this week for their new topic FORCES was  INQUIRER & THINKER.  It was great to see the children curious about the topic, putting on their thinking caps and become little inquirers, when they visited the Birla Science Museum and started exploring and asking questions as how and which force is applied and how the machines work, its application, they brainstormed and communicated to share their ideas to the class, when they came back from the field trip and filled their reflection as well.

  • Students discussed the conditions of various countries in the world and how the decision of leaders affect citizens.
  • Students did a word splash activity in understanding aspects of Government.

Various activities were done to strengthen speaking skills in students. Students discussed their understanding of the Global Goals and shared it with the class.Students learned new words and their synonyms and used them while conversing with peers and teachers.JAM session was conducted. Students learned vocabulary to replace commonly used words and enhance their speech.

 

Grammar:

 

Compound Sentences was taught in detail. Students gained an understanding of forming compound sentences. 

 

Writing

 

Students wrote a journal entry based on the ongoing unit. They were asked to add detail to their writing to make it more meaningful. 

 

A handwriting session was organised to help students understand the art of cursive writing. Strokes and letters were taught and practiced.

 

Reading

 

Author study was done. Students read levelled books during Guided Reading.

They presented a skit to show how birds suffer due to negligence of human beings. Students became “Inquirers”and inquired about rights and responsibilities of an individual.

Central Idea: Overtime living things need to adapt in order to survive.

  • Students demonstrated their understanding by creating a spider web to connect animals to their uses
  • Students demonstrated their knowledge in FA-3 by connecting people and animals with their uses.
  • Students took action by presenting a short skit on spreading awareness “safety of birds during Sankranti”. They prepared a chart and asked schoolmates to take a pledge to save birds during sankranti.
